Prospective Students
The Cobb County School District recognizes that students who demonstrate exceptional potential in a specific area may benefit from a specialized high school program of study. Cobb County's magnet programs allow students to pursue their interests, develop their talents, and extend their competencies beyond the usual scope of high school. During fall semester, eighth grade students at each district middle school are provided information about all magnet programs. Due to limited space at each program, students are selected through a highly-competitive, rigorous application process. All applications to academic magnets are completed online and Application Portal Opens: October 1, 2024. This year, the application window to be considered for the Fall 2025 incoming class of The Academy of Research and Medical Sciences closed on December 2, 2024.
Magnet Testing for Non-Cobb County Students
Thank you for your interest in applying to one or more of the Cobb County Magnet Programs. Non-CCSD students
(private school, homeschool, out of district) who have not taken the PSAT 8/9 must register to take this test as part of
the magnet admissions process. If you took the PSAT 8/9 at your school, please contact the magnet coordinators to
find out how to properly submit your scores.
